Advanced Research re-invests their revenue in internal
research and development efforts. For instance, the SARA research and
development activities are nearly totally funded by Advanced Research. Also
the maritime tools of CoastalWx and GetMyLicense are products of
Advanced Research's internal activities.
In addition, we conduct basic and applied research for our Government and
commercial clients in the areas of AI. For instance, Advanced Research
personnel supported the United Nations in assessing the feasibility of
secure low bandwidth worldwide communication in support of humanitarian
operations. Further, we conducted applied research in assessing the
effectiveness of alternative communications for Presidential support.

Our current project focuses on identifying low
cost and low bandwidth communications alternatives to the mariner.
Our primary audience is the marine industry professional who
specializes in the installation and maintenance of electronic systems
aboard commercial and government vessels. However, the research will
also apply to the recreational voyager.
Bob Todd, founder of Advanced Research holds patents on advanced Emergency
Position Identification and Reporting Buoys (EPIRB), security appliances,
and aircraft collision avoidance systems.
